The Eye Opening Film and Lecture Series
Presented by the Eagle Theatre and the Hammonton Green Committee
Miss Representation
The Eagle Theatre and the Hammonton Green Committee are proud to partner in order to present a series of thought-provoking, award-winning documentary films on a diverse set of issues, ranging from localized economics, to sustainability, to gender roles in the workplace. Admission to these events is free, but donations are welcome. All films are shown at the Eagle Theatre, located at 208 Vine Street in Hammonton.
The next film screening will take place at 7pm on May 22 at the Eagle Theatre, when we will proudly screen “Miss Representation.”
In a society where media is the most influence force shaping cultural norms, the collective message that women and girls receive is that their value and power lie in looks, and not in intellect. If you are concerned about the misrepresentation of women in media, and especially the influence of the youth, please join us for this free screening on May 22!
