Mainstage Productions

  • the wild party - february 9 - 26

Two explosive lovers, Queenie and Burrs, are throwing a party-to-end-all-parties. It’s Manhattan in the 1920’s, and when these two vaudeville performers invite a vivacious group of guests— things are bound to get steamy. As the drinks flow throughout the evening, Burrs grows jealous of Queenie’s latest attraction, Mr. Black, and things turn violent. But who will be there to clean up the mess when the party's over?

Content Warning for The Wild Party: production contains simulated sexual violence, strong language, sound of gunshots, portrayal of physical violence, domestic abuse, substance and alcohol abuse, haze and fog.

  • Water By The Spoonful - May 4-21

Elliot Ortiz is a Marine veteran returned from Iraq, and living back home in North Philly. Still haunted by the war, he navigates the dissonance of his family relationships while in the midst of the loss of a loved one. Meanwhile, a Cyber Community of recovering addicts connects over their own journeys toward personal redemption. When the two worlds collide, Elliot faces his greatest challenge - how to break from the past and move into a new future. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Water by the Spoonful by Quiara Alegria Hudes (book writer of hit musical In the Heights) is a captivating story about family, freedom, and self-acceptance that highlights that we all have far more in common than we realize.

Content Warning for Water by the Spoonful: story contains subject matter around PTSD and addiction.
